Offered for sale is an original condition vintage 1956 Les Paul Goldtop. This rare collectable Les Paul Goldtop has a carved maple top, with mahogany back and neck. It features a bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlay, a pearl logo and Kluson tuners with tulip shaped tuner buttons. It has many advanced features such as the stop tailpiece and tunamatic bridge made famous on the late 50's Les Pauls. This guitar features 2 soapbar p90 pickups with cream colored covers. Since it is pre 1960 it has a nice full neck. In 1960 gibson made the necks on the Les Paul slimmer. This guitar also has the narrower frets featured on the late 50's Les Pauls. In 1959 Gibson changed the Les Paul by changing to large size frets. With the fatter neck and narrower frets this guitar plays exactly like the late 50's Bursts that are selling for hundreds of thousands of dollars. This guitar is in excellent used condition with no greening, very little neck wear, some typical finish checking and just a minor ding or two. I would rate its overall condition at a 8-9 on a scale of 10.
